If you don’t know, Lent started yesterday. This is a season of forty days, where you give up something, and don’t eat meat (only fish) on Fridays to become a better person, and wade the ending days of Jesus until His resurrection (Easter). Today, I want to share some ideas of what you can give up and why. Many times people think they just give up something, but don’t know the purpose. Today, I will share my ideas, my personal debate, and show you the bigger purpose.
The Ideas:
- Give up drinking- soberness heals the body, clears the mind, and bonds
- Give up sweets- sugar is addictive, take back your control and appearance
- Set harsher boundaries- allow yourself unremorseful peace within your life
- Take more self-love time- intentionally give space to yourself and your needs
- Dive into the Bible more- discipline yourself to learn, grow, and know God
My Debate:
- Give up meat (to see what it was like to live off the Earth with Adam/Eve)
- Give up my business activity (to hone into God’s desires and not the world’s)
- Focus on myself and holistic health (to reestablish my ideas of life/success)
See, one day has gone by, today being day two, and I have not decided completely. I did not want to leave you in the dust if I chose option two, so I chose to write today. I know that you and I have different lives, and your relationships need you differently, but if you want help brainstorming, then email me at hello@confidencefaith.com. If you know what you are giving up and why- let me know by replying to this email!
Forty days can be long and leaving you in the same space in life, is unproductive. Choose with a goal because forty days can be transformational. Using your time wisely, will not only allow you to discover the path to rediscover you, but also provide the positive change that will continue you forward.
