Hello Everyone,
It has been almost a month, 30 days into Lent, and I am sure if you have given something up, temptation has knocked on your door. In loss of self™ those triggers are going to be there until you face them, know how to work through them, or just plain get over it all through truth- Lent is the same. You are going to be tempted until you face that you are weak at times and you will want to cave. You have to know how to work through it, not being able to have what you want. Also, you just have to plain get over the temptations by knowing the truth, that at times you are repelling change because you just are scared.
Honestly, we as humans are complicated because we fear what is on the other side of change. I used to be this way in forgiveness. I felt like, what am I going to do when I finish or remove this huge chuck of negative emotions, negative thoughts, or this identity/narrative I have created?; I will tell you, it was scary, and I rejected it for a while. One day though, I was put in a place that God asked me to forgive. I sat there crying as I didn’t want to release the pain. I said every wound I held, asking if He was there, knew it happened, or even if He would make me whole again. I just didn’t know what was on the other side. Finally though, I just did it. I forgave others and myself for actions, thoughts, the impacts within my life, and in that moment, I gave up “control”.
On the other side of releasing lies this unknown so many of you fear. After I released “control”, I stood there, free. I was nobody new because I already was. I was nobody empty, lonely, nor confused because I was already full. Positivity gave way, and as I asked how I would face those I privately forgave- I found that I just did. I took a step back, evaluated, and looked at them (and myself with new eyes). I sat on the other side renewed, filled, and ready to try again. The beauty of Lent is that you will be tempted or fail, but when you let go of the control, addiction, bad habit, or pain, you will stand again, risen from the emotional and mental state of death, ready to love, and ready to live again.
In loss of self™, you, your life, love, or business, can all have that same renewal. it’s okay to be scared, but you have to stay focused. You have to not give in on that one “cheat day”. You can’t stock up on what you know is an issue, and pretend transformation will come. This Lent is your time, and you have about two weeks left to even change the state of your loss of self™, but remember positive changes come with temptations of stumbling blocks, it is just part of the game. As I have gone through these stages, I am here to help. You can email me (hello@confidencefaith.com), you can join the Counting of the Omer (learn more here) or even the Faith + Spirituality service (here). I am not just walking away, but walking beside you! In addition, I just wanted to leave you this verse of support to hold you, until I resume normal business again:
These things I have spoken to you, that ye have peace in me; in the world ye shall have dis-ease, but trust ye, I have overcome the world.
