I remember when I was young, I had dreams- I wanted to be a cowgirl. When I was older I had dreams- I wanted to be rich. No matter what stage of life you are in, there is a strive for more, better, or authentic. It is not bad, but something we should all know, accept, and learn how to deal with. When I have asked people what they want, especially when I present The Core 4 Journeys™ (workbooks) to others, there is a pause. This pause normally comes with a confused face, and maybe a nobody has ever asked me that before, or I don’t know, I am going to have to think about it.
I think there is a lot to say for this space in our minds and hearts. It means that we are not, you are not, in tune with who you truly are in essence, nor have you ventured to ask why. The truth that I have found, is most of the time nobody knows what they literally want, but compares their life to others to gain an idea of what should make them happier. A lot of the times you, as well as myself, imagine what we could have, believing it is better, and hold tightly as we pretend our next event is an escape in that direction. The question is why?
Why do we just hold to an idea instead of knowing? Why do we keep our desires secret instead of venturing out to get them? In loss of self™ we tend to our own gardens more so because we don’t want to face the stumbling blocks, but what if instead of looking at that one spot in the garden, you looked up at the entire garden? What do you think you would see in life? I believe that you would see a blessing, probably more than one. Maybe it isn’t packaged the way you want, but blessings are gifts from love that bring us to a point that we can change to be, do, and have better. So the packaging truly isn’t that important, is it?
I think the true pain of our dreams “failing” is we attach our identity and self-value to it, and that means we “fail” too. What if we stopped fantasizing and saw the blessings that were in front of us- the one bird in the hand- without judgement? What if instead of comparing to the two birds in the bush, you just let your garden be filled with the sounds of your blessing bird, and look to accept what is, with hope there is more? I believe in your garden of life, your dreams can take new forms step by step (disappointment, acceptance, appreciation). I know the dreams are hard to let go, but the truth is focusing on the the pains of being stuck, losing love, feeling less than, or failing more doesn’t move you. If the majority of us are comparing to get an idea of what would make us happy, then why not harmonize your dreams with the blessings you see, and redefine what can truly come? This is rediscovery.
